Aleks Eklund’s legal practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with particular focus on intellectual property litigation.  She has litigated cases spanning a wide range of technologies and industries, including cloud computing and virtualization software, dental appliances, programmable logic devices, cloud data services and data management, spinal cord stimulation networking software, semiconductors, and aerial imagery combined with data analytics.

Prior to joining MKW, Aleks was an associate at two international law firms working on high-stakes intellectual property cases for Fortune 500 companies.  In addition, she maintained an active pro bono practice, with an emphasis on women’s rights.  She worked on matters involving gender-based discrimination and reproductive rights.

Before joining private practice, Aleks worked in-house at various international technology companies.  She has substantial experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including software licensing and supply contracts.

Aleks also served as a Board Member and Secretary of the San Francisco Chapter of UN Women USA supporting the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women in their mission towards gender equality. 

Aleks has lived and studied in the United Kingdom, France, and Poland. She is fluent in Polish.
