The U.S. News & World Report–Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” rankings for 2021 were released last Thursday. The rankings recognize MKW as a “Best Law Firm” nationally for Patent Law and regionally (New York City) for Patent Law, Patent Litigation, and Intellectual Property Litigation.
The 2021 “Best Law Firms” rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their fields, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. Specifically, to arrive at their rankings, the U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers asked clients to provide feedback on firm practice groups, addressing expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer the firm to another client. Lawyers also voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, whether they would refer a matter to a firm, and whether they consider the firm a worthy competitor. Overall, the rankings incorporate 7.8 million evaluations of more than 110,000 individual leading lawyers from more than 15,000 firms.
A listing in Best Lawyers is widely regarded by both clients and legal professionals as a significant honor. MKW thanks its clients and its peer lawyers at other firms who provided feedback.
